The short version
Fristo has no server of its own, no user account, no tracking and no advertising. Your deadlines are stored locally on your device and — if you have iCloud enabled — additionally in your own private iCloud (Apple CloudKit, with Apple as your contracting party). We never have access to your data at any point.
What the app processes
Only what you enter yourself:
- title, date and category of a deadline (warranty, document, insurance, vehicle, household, contract, other)
- optionally a repetition (e.g. “every 12 months”) and lead times for reminders
- optionally an amount and a billing interval, which the app uses to project your monthly and yearly costs
- optionally notes and a photo as a receipt
There is no sign-up, no email prompt and no device or advertising identifiers. The app does not request access to contacts, location, calendar or health data.
Storage on your device
Your data lives in the app’s own database on your iPhone and is encrypted by the operating system. Photo receipts are written with the strictest iOS file protection level and can only be read after the device has been unlocked.
iCloud sync (optional)
If you are signed in to iOS with an Apple Account and iCloud is enabled for Fristo, the app syncs your deadlines between your devices through the private iCloud database of your Apple Account. That is your iCloud, not ours. We have no access to it and can neither read nor analyse its contents. Apple operates this service; Apple’s privacy policy applies.
Without an iCloud account the app keeps working unchanged and stores everything locally. Photo receipts are not synced and stay only on the device where you added them.
To keep devices in sync, Apple notifies your device of changes via silent push messages. No content is transmitted to us in the process. Legal basis: Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR (providing the functionality you requested).
Notifications
Reminders are scheduled and delivered locally on your device. Nothing is transmitted to us or to third parties. You can revoke the permission at any time in the iOS settings; the app then continues to work without reminders.
Purchases
Fristo Pro is offered as a subscription or a one-time purchase through the App Store. All payment processing is handled by Apple; we receive no payment details, no names and no addresses, only anonymised sales and subscription statistics. Whether your purchase is active is verified by the app directly with Apple, on the device.
No sharing, no analytics
Fristo contains no third-party analytics, advertising or crash-reporting SDKs. No data is transmitted to us or to other companies. The only third party involved is Apple, in its role as platform, iCloud and payment provider.
Retention
Your entries remain stored for as long as you keep them. There is no server-side retention, because there is no server.
Your rights
Under the GDPR you have the rights to access, rectification, erasure, restriction, data portability and objection. Since we neither process nor store any personal data about you, we cannot hand any over — there simply is none. In practice:
- Delete a single deadline: directly on the entry inside the app.
- Delete everything: remove the app from your device.
- Delete the iCloud copy: in the iOS settings under Apple Account → iCloud → Manage Storage, remove the entry for Fristo.
You also have the right to lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority — in Austria, the Datenschutzbehörde.
